The Gastrointestinal and Liver Association of the Americas (GALA) was formed in 2013. GALA was organized in order to unite health care providers across the Americas who are treating patients with chronic liver and gastrointestinal (GI) diseases. With extensive information on new treatment options, evolving data on existing treatment and diagnostic modalities, and critical information on improving patient outcomes, it is critical that health care providers who typically are unable to attend the large international conferences are informed of the most important advances.

GALA is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) educational organization and all grants awarded to GALA are used to support educational programs and are not used for salaries and general administrative expenses of the GI and Liver Association of the Americas.

Mission Statement:

The GI and Liver Association of the Americas mission is to provide the most up to date education to physicians and other healthcare professionals who care for patients with chronic liver and gastrointestinal disorders. Educational initiatives will be held throughout the Americas, including the United States of America, Canada, Central America, and South America.
