The RheumConnect regional series will employ a multi-faceted approach for delivering content using didactic and performance-based active learning. The focus will be on new concepts regarding disease etiology, clinical presentation, phenotype, and emerging therapies.

Target Audience

This initiative is designed for rheumatology clinicians and health care professionals who treat rheumatic disease.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Review data on the prevalence of rheumatic diseases
  • Describe the progressive nature and detrimental effects of untreated rheumatic diseases
  • Discuss updates in diagnosis, classification and treatment guidelines and demonstrate strategies to incorporate these guidelines into practice
  • Analyze recently approved and emerging treatment options, including a review of their safety and efficacy through analysis of how new agents are improving patient care
  • Identify and analyze any "hot topics" in specific areas of rheumatic disease (such as the use of biosimilars, new treatments for psoriatic disease, vasculitis, gout, and drugs in development)
